The invention relates to the field of an environmental protection technology and a functional material technology, in particular to preparation and application of a composite magnetic nanometer catalytic material for water treatment to catalytic oxidation treatment of wastewater. The preparation comprises the following steps : firstly mixing divalent iron salt and trivalent iron salt according to acertain proportion, adding polyethylene glycol, sodium gluconate, ammonium citrate and the like as synthetic auxiliaries and preparing magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles under alkaline conditions; then treating the Fe3O4 nanoparticles with dilute acid and a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) solution, mixing with magnesium ions and preparing magnetic Mg(OH)2@Fe3O4 composite nanoparticles under lye conditioning; finally immersing the prepared composite magnetic nanometer material in an active metal ion solution, promoting to form a lattice defect active site ad further enhancing a catalytic oxidation effect. The composite magnetic nanometer catalytic material is stable in property, simple and easy in preparation process, and cheap and easily-available in raw materials, thereby being a multi-purpose environmentally-friendly material.
