The invention relates to the field of biotechnology, in particular to a stress-inducible gene LEA14 deriving from jerusalem artichoke, a preparation method and application thereof. The jerusalem artichoke stress-inducible gene LEA14 has a base sequence shown as SEQ ID NO1, or is a gene having more than 85% of homology with the base sequence shown as SEQ ID NO : 1. LEA14 encoded amino acid sequence is shown as SEQ ID NO 2. The invention utilizes polymerase amplification technology to clone a gene sequence of the stress-inducible gene LEA14 from jerusalem artichoke tubers, the obtained gene can be used for plant genetic transformation and improvement of plant resistance to drought, high salinity and other abiotic stress resistance, and has very high value in plant stress resistance improvement research and application.
